The Clearview Library District will cancel all district programs, outreach events, public meeting room use, and bookmobile stops beginning at 3 p.m. today through April 5 as a result of concerns surrounding COVID-19 (Coronavirus).
One-on-one tax preparation provided by VITA will still be held. During this time of altered scheduling, all children visiting the library are to be accompanied by a parent or care-giver.
“The health of our community members and staff is extremely important to us,” said Director Ann Kling. “This is a preventative measure to help slow or reduce the spread of the Coronavirus.”
This additional step is one of many the library has undertaken in response to the COVID-19 situation, including increased cleaning procedures in library facilities in line with public health guidelines.
“We’re working in close collaboration with area partners to monitor the situation and to keep our community’s health and safety first,” Kling said. “This is an evolving situation and we may adjust our practices as new information becomes available.”
The Library Board of Trustees will hold a Special Meeting 1 p.m. Sunday, March 15, to determine potential next actions.
