The Clearview Library District will host Windsor resident and national inspirational speaker Danette Haag for a talk titled “I Am Enough” at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 14.
Having spent a lifetime healing — physically, emotionally, and spiritually — from full-body burns, Haag will share with audiences her transformational journey and how, despite our imperfections, we are “enough” exactly as we are.
“We’ve all been through something or had someone hurt us in some way, leaving scars,” said Haag. “I learned to believe in and value myself through my extensive injuries. I hope to share with others the tools I’ve learned, so they can get to a place of healing, empowerment, and self-love in order to realize their fullest potential.”
Geared toward teenagers and their parents, “I Am Enough” touches upon Haag’s experiences with bullying.
“Bullying comes from a place of pain, insecurity, and fear,” Haag said. “I believe that if we start with ourselves and learn to value and love ourselves, we’re less likely to tear down or hurt someone else. When we live at our greatest potential and are able to recognize that in others, we make the world a better place.”
“I Am Enough” is free and open to the public; no registration required. The event is recommended for ages 12 and older.
Part of the “Celebrating Our Community” series, “I Am Enough” is one of several events scheduled in the month of May. The series aims to spark conversation, teach new skills, and strengthen relationships. For more “Celebrating Our Community” events, visit https://clearviewlibrary.org/
